SPECIAL GUESTS: Amadeus Chorale Dancers
Program Narrated by Darla Bair
Opening with Elgar's Imperial March, the symphony brings you Longaville's Sonnet, and Six Studies in English Folk Song for Clarinet and Orchestra. Irish dancers delight us during Two Celtic Pieces for Pennywhistle and Orchestra. The Amadeus singers call the ewes in from the hills in Ca' the Yowes, they tell us of the potato famine in Ireland, a candy-seller named Coulter, and set an ethereal mood with Karl Jenkins' Adiemus. You don't want to miss the final orchestra and chorus offering of Hubert Parry's Jerusalem and Gustav Holst's Hymn from Jupiter!
